Outer Banks Weddings Are Wheelchair Friendly
Have you dreamed about having your wedding on the beach but thought it couldn’t happen because you or someone you love and want to have at your wedding has a disability? Well your beach wedding dream can still come true!
Here on the Outer Banks, which was recently named the #1 family beach in the United States by U.S. News & World Report, we like to make everyone’s dreams come true. In a recent wedding I performed, the bride’s mother was not able to walk out in the sand to the wedding site.
As you can see in the picture, we used a special “ATV” wheelchair that can work in the sand. This wheelchair was rented for a nominal fee from one of our many local equipment rental vendors. And some places, like Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head, offer the use of the ATV wheelchair free of charge. Jennette’s Pier even has a ramp out to the sand, and accessible restrooms.
As the mother of a daughter with a disability I know how important it is for everyone to be able to go to the beach. The beaches of the Outer Banks are accessible to everyone. Yes, every bride’s beach wedding dream can come true! Contact your Outer Banks Wedding Minister for further info.
