On July 29th, three days before our wedding ceremony the island was under a mandatory evacuation for all visitors due to the island wide power outage. Emotions ran high as we could not believe another obstacle would stand in the way of their dream wedding. Luckily we found a hotel in Nags Head for a few days and Barbara and Jenni ( Epic Photography) agreed to change the location off the island, to make their wedding dreams come true. It may have only been us and our three children, but is was the most beautiful wedding I could ever dreamed of. Barbara was so sweet and her sermon was so heartfelt it brought my husband and I to tears. The short time we had with Barbara made you feel like you knew her years and we will never forget the beautiful ceremony she performed.

What a heartfelt ceremony!!! Reverend Mulford is an awesome officiant. She replied to our emails/phone calls right away (leading up to and the day of the wedding) i got married in front of our rental home and even our neighbors watching from their deck said it was a beautiful ceremony – we could tell that she put a great thought and effort in officiating the ceremony!! we highly recommend!

We went through dozens of websites before finding Barbara. Once we saw her website, we knew she was the one.
We are in Ohio, and we had a ceremony up here so our family would be present to hear our vows and then we had a big party for friends and family. But, we wanted to be officially married in the Outer Banks which is like home. We are hoping to relocate down there after the last child is out of college!!

We got a hold of Barbara and she was to marry us on Valentine’s Day this year which fell on a Sunday. We needed to be at the government offices on Friday to obtain our marriage license.

Well, we were in town on that Friday, but we took our time checking into the beach house and shopping. A snowstorm actually hit that weekend, and it was bad enough on Friday to close the government offices early so we could not obtain our marriage license!

So, Barbara was gracious enough to meet us on Jeanette’s Pier anyway on Sunday, which was so cold and blustery, and we went ahead with the ceremony. But, Barbara could not pronounce us husband and wife without our marriage license. So, she had us meet at the government offices first thing the next morning with our witnesses in tow, and we finished our ceremony there!

She handled all the paperwork and even gave us marriage certificate with Valentine’s Day as the date! She was so wonderful about the whole thing and having to meet twice!

She made it fun and we have a great story to tell! She was kind and compassionate! She made our experience very special and we will always cherish what we shared with her on the pier and at the government office. She had beautiful words for us and it meant so much that she was the one to make it official for us!

We feel we made a friend for life and we will recommend her to everyone!

Barbara was simply AMAZING! My now husband and I live in Maryland and she made planning a destination wedding a piece of cake. We met her via Skype the summer before our wedding and instantly loved her and knew we wanted her to officiate our wedding.

She was always very quick to respond to emails and helpful with answering our questions — anything from what type of ceremony we wanted to how to go about obtaining our marriage certificate. Our wedding was this past Saturday (July 9th) and it was everything we hoped it would be and more!

During the course of the wedding planning process, Barbara became a dear friend and someone I know that my friends, Lorna and David, and I will treasure forever.

I think it’s rare to meet someone like Barbara that listens… not just because she is a vendor contributing to your wedding… but really listening to get to know you better as a person. After the first meeting we all had with her, Lorna, David, and I came away with the same feeling that there was just something about her that was just special. My husband and I decided to elope in a “destination” setting. So I organized everything via the internet, depended heavily on reviews and crossed my fingers. Barbara seemed to fit our budget and had good reviews, so we sent her an email. And we ended up very happy to have picked her to wed us.

Barbara married my husband Ray and I last Monday, October 20 on the beach near the pier at Nags Head. It was her suggestion and it was a wonderful one! We were not worried so much about the weather because she had told us of the many options there in any type of weather such as inside the building, on the pier or under the pier.

God blessed us with a beautiful mid 70 degree day with a slight breeze! And it was just a short drive from the Register of Deeds Office in Manteo where we picked up our marriage license.

Barbara was so warm, and even though I’m sure she does many weddings, you could feel her excitement for us. She was very organized and got all of the paperwork out of the way up front and even dropped off the signed marriage license to the Register of Deeds Office afterwards along with our money for a certified copy to be mailed to us. And the ceremony was so beautiful. It really couldn’t have been more perfect!

I live out of state and couldn’t meet her until the day before my wedding but she was always available when I called or emailed her with questions. And when I did meet her she was SO nice!
